I love this peice

About 30 years ago I bought this piece in plain clay, no glaze, from a hardware store, on sale. It came with a recipe for French bread loaf. I made it once and it was so involved I put the pan away and about 10 years ago I started making the 5 minute Artisan Bread. This pan was perfect for it. Then I bought one of these, Bennington no longer sold the one without the glaze, for my daughter who wanted to make the bread. Well, 2 years ago she got started with sourdough and got me going on it too. Last year my other daughter started making sourdough and since she is only one person a round loaf slice was too much bread so I bought her one of these pans. My daughter-in-law started in with the sourdough so I bought her one too. So, Bennington has sold me 4 of these pans. I just love the way bread turns out in it.

Love this pottery!

I bought this for a Christmas gift for my daughter in law. It was delivered quickly and packaged very well as not to break. I love making meatloaf in this pan (I received one as a gift from my mother years ago). Thank you!

30 years and counting

30 years ago my husband and I visited Amish country and saw a Bennington French Loaf pan in the window of a hardware store. We bought it. I used it, I LOVE it. My daughter has taken up bread baking and wanted one like mine, so of course I bought a Bennington French Loaf pan. The only difference between mine and hers besides age is mine isn't glazed, but she LOVES it. Thank you for giving us this gift of beautiful pottery that has lived up to the test of time.

Years ago when I bought this, it was billed as a baked apple pan, and I'm here to tell you it does a nice job of that. But I use this piece all the time--it's great for bread or crackers or chips on a crowded buffet table; it's a compact veggie and dip server; it's a unique pan to heat and serve nachos; it's my go-to shrimp cocktail server. And it's great looking hanging up in my kitchen!

Nice but

This is a replacement for an earlier banneton. It looks nice serving warm bread, but the handle snapped off after just a few uses. Now I'm worried about the similar handles on the matching bistro plates.
