30 years and counting
May 5, 2022  |  By Kathy T., Peotone, IL
30 years ago my husband and I visited Amish country and saw a Bennington French Loaf pan in the window of a hardware store. We bought it. I used it, I LOVE it. My daughter has taken up bread baking and wanted one like mine, so of course I bought a Bennington French Loaf pan. The only difference between mine and hers besides age is mine isn't glazed, but she LOVES it. Thank you for giving us this gift of beautiful pottery that has lived up to the test of time.

Years ago when I bought this, it was billed as a baked apple pan, and I'm here to tell you it does a nice job of that. But I use this piece all the time--it's great for bread or crackers or chips on a crowded buffet table; it's a compact veggie and dip server; it's a unique pan to heat and serve nachos; it's my go-to shrimp cocktail server. And it's great looking hanging up in my kitchen!

Nice but

This is a replacement for an earlier banneton. It looks nice serving warm bread, but the handle snapped off after just a few uses. Now I'm worried about the similar handles on the matching bistro plates.

FROM THE POTTERS: Thank you, Paul! We were glad that we were able to be in touch with you to help you with this problem. Our pottery can and should last for many years with normal care and use. Premature failure or cracking is often due to sudden and or uneven exposure to temperature extremes, including direct heat from the stovetop or broiler.
