The design of this mug is the way all mugs should be designed. Fits hand perfectly. Tall with smaller opening keeps beverage warm longer, bottom wide and heavy to prevent tipping easily The dark green color is my favorite color. It is my designated cup in the house. I think having a designated cup keeps germs from spreading . I have had this cup for25 years ( replaced twice from accidentally someone breaking it) . It's the perfect cup and I won't use any other. Thank you Bennington pottery from designing it and keeping the line going.

Dean and DeLuca had your mugs way back in the early 2000s. I fell in love with the mug. I've tried heated mugs, insulated mugs, other mugs, and I always come looking for my old tankard mug. We love our Bennington Potters pottery. We lived in Vermont for many years and registered for Bennington Potters when we were married. It is now an elegant reminder of our time in Vermont in our home in Seattle. We have collected many pieces of slate on gray over the years. Our only disappointment is the limited number of items offered in our glaze. We wish there was a wider offering.

I love your tankard mugs, both design and finish. I had been looking for tankards that are similar in color to the Bennington mugs my mother's family used in the 1920's, which are lovely for drinking tea and coffee, and survived many moves around the country in the last hundred years.

Nice and stable, very attractive. This purchase was actually a precautionary one as the original I bought a decade or two ago has a fine crack running halfway down the outside. Crack hasn't reached the inside, so may be just the glazing, but having to revert to using an *ordinary* mug for my coffee & tea was just too horrid to consider. Plus, the size of this matches the single-serving French Press I have.
One complaint: these mugs do NOT show in this color in the regular web page, and I only knew to search for them at all because the print catalog showed them. Search for these by glaze if you want to buy online.
FYI I bought the original in a coffee shop in Philadelphia, near the river, and was able to find you all these years later because you put your full name on the bottom. Thanks for that!

Bought four of these in the white-on-white glaze many, many years ago. I still love using them. They have been used on a daily basis for tea, and have gone through the dishwasher hundreds of times. Still perfect. They do get stained from the tea but a little bleach and water brings them back to white, as new.

The Tavernware dulls if washed in dishwasher.

We have seen this a couple of times before with other customers and found that if you use a water softener, the salt in the softener can coat the matte glaze which causes it to dull down over time. We recommend using Barkeepers' friend to help bring back the luster of your piece!

This mug shape has become my husband's favorite for his morning coffee. He seeks it out, bypassing others. We started with two, now we're at four. Waiting for a grey tone or red for our mountain house.

I purchased four of the same mugs many years ago. I was thrilled that I could order four more recently that matched the older ones. The color matched perfectly. The only difference was the inside of the mug had the blue color.

My husband and I received 4 of these in blue agate as a wedding gift recently. They are both beautiful to look at on our open kitchen shelving and functional and enjoyable to use. The tapered shape is elegant and pleasant to hold in your hand when warm, the handle is perfect. My favorite mugs in the house, by far. Really a wonderful and memorable gift.
