"After thirty five years I have inherited the cooking chores for our family... In all these decades, your batter bowl which we acquired when we had a ski lodge at Chimney Hill, Wilmington, Vt is still the finest kitchen implement we have ever owned. Our compliments to the designer/potter and thanks." Niel S., Mystic, CT |

There Were Rules of Course
There were at least a dozen of us who brought a large coffee mug to work instead of using the fragile paper ones stacked near the coffee maker. Hooks to hang the real mugs hung by the communal sink so that we could rinse and store our mugs conveniently. Someone started a contest to pick the most unique mug and rules were established. The mug had to be American made. The judges had to consider it unique. Choosing the perfect mug was a very important consideration. I didn't fret. Obviously this called for a trip to my favorite pottery shop – Bennington Potters - "American Made Stoneware Pottery" at its finest. A sure winner would be found there! I bought myself a blue agate trigger – their signature mug – a Tavernware tankard, and an American classic mug in a green glaze. The one I was sure was going to knock their socks off though was a very unique coffee mug with a pottery glaze called Mt. Equinox. Real arts and crafts pottery. Not only was I sure that it would win the contest for me, I also thought that it would be a great gift for 'my something small but cool' gift list. I ended up buying a dozen mugs that day! I almost felt guilty. The contest was already won.
