Easy pour spout - an all time favorite!
Our largest stoneware batter bowl is a must have for any kitchen. The built-in pouring spout and rolled rim handle make it easy to pour and wonderful to hold. This bowl is the most difficult bowl for our potters to make and easily our best seller!

Pouring the Perfect Pancake
Growing up in a household of eleven children was difficult enough without a struggle over the perfect pancake. Just making pancakes for eleven was an incredible feat but we added the issue of size to the mix. A variety of mixing bowls was tried over the years, but by far the favorite of the stoneware bowls was the Bennington Pottery batter bowl with the pouring spout. Why? Because each one of us had a very specific opinion about the size the perfect pancake should be! My poor Mother had a batter bowl - bowl set! Three sizes to choose from so that she could mix up just the right amount of batter for those wanting pancakes for breakfast. She was a patient woman! We had a matching stoneware pitcher that we used for maple syrup and a stoneware dinnerware set that Mom could heat the plates from to keep our pancakes warm. We each had a tiny butter crock in a different pottery glaze that could also be used for fruit or jelly if we wanted something different as a topping. Mom is gone now, but the perfect size pancake discussion still comes up at family get-togethers. Bennington Potters is still making batter bowl mixing bowls that I give whenever I want a unique handmade gift that makes it easy to pour the perfect pancake - whatever size that may be!
